Restrictions

The Law

UK Law forbids the sale of weapons to persons under the age of 18. As such you are unable to sell these items to those people lucky enough to be under the age of 18.

It is NOT illegal for somebody under the age of 18 to own a weapon, just illegal for us to sell them one. Parents or generous relations are welcome to purchase these items for persons under the age of 18 but we do remind you that these items can maim or kill so caution is advised.

So what is a “weapon”?

Any item on our site that can cause injury or death is classed as a weapon. Yes, we know that you cause injury with a plastic or wooden sword etc. In general anything made of steel and pointy, sharp or designed to club people will be restricted to sale to people over the age of 18 only. Projectile weapons such as crossbows are also restricted in the same way.

Do I need a licence to purchase a sword or other weaponry from your site?

UK Law does not require you to have a license to purchase or own a sword. All of the weaponry on our site is legal within the UK. If you are ordering from overseas it is best to check with your local law enforcement office before placing your order.

Although these items are legal to own, they are not legal to be carried in public places without good reason – such as a re-enactment event where you are a participant etc. If in doubt, check with your local law enforcement office.

Q. Do I need a licence sell swords

A. You do not need a license to sell swords in England and Wales at this time. You must be satisfied that the purchaser is over 18 at the time of purchase.

If you are selling swords or daggers in Scotland, you will need to apply for a Knife Dealers License here  https://www.gov.uk/knife-dealers-licence-scotland before you can legally sell these items.
