This beautiful medieval sword, which is decorated with symbols and coats of arms of the Knights Templar, is not an exact replica of a historical original, but rather a tribute to the Knights Templar. The double-edged carbon steel blade has a flattened, diamond cross-section and tapers evenly towards the tip. The cutting edges are not sharpened and the full tang is riveted to the pommel.
The two-handed sword features a wooden grip wrapped in black leather for a comfortable and secure hold. The crossguard and pommel are made of steel with an antique finish. The straight crossguard ends in stylised wolf heads, while the centre is adorned with a silver Templar cross on a red enamelled background. A particular highlight is the octagonal pommel. Its centre is adorned with a red enamelled coat of arms of the Knights Templar showing two knights on a horse. This motif is framed by the Latin inscription “MILITUM XPISTI SIGILLUM“, meaning “Seal of the Soldiers of Christ”.
The sword comes with a beautiful wooden scabbard covered in black leather. Two red leather straps with antique-finish brass buckles not only add decorative accents, but also allow for easy attachment to a sword belt. This medieval sword is designed as a collectors or decoration/display piece and, besides its quality as a collectible, is also perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
