Our 15th Century Crusader Longsword is inspired by the swords wielded by knights of the mighty crusading orders. The steel pommel and guard are decorated with the cross pattée, the instantly recognisable symbol of the Hospitaller and Templar orders. The wooden grip is leather wrapped with banded decoration. It features a profiled high carbon steel blade and comes complete with decorated leather scabbard with wooden core and brass fittings.

The hilt of the Isle of Eigg Sword is the finest example of a Viking sword hilt ever found in Scotland and currently resides on the National Museums of Scotland collection. It was discovered on the island of Eigg in the Inner Hebrides by a local farmer whilst levelling a mound. The mound is thought to have contained a pagan burial and also contained bronze bucket mounts, a whetstone and some pieces of the original blade. 

The sword dates from around the 9th or 10th century. All parts of the hilt are richly decorated animal and geometric ornament in panels. Some of the original decoration was inlaid with silver or silver thread.

Our Isle of Eigg Sword replica features a double-edged blade with wide central fuller.&nbsp;<span>The grip, guard and pommel are made of cast bronze.</span> The unsharpened blade is made of well-tempered "Damascus Steel" and is peened at the pommel for durability.The blade was formed by twisting bars of steel around each other, welding the bars together by hammering and then repeating the process to create this distinct chevron pattern. Pattern welded swords reflected the high status of those who wielded them and the famous Ulfberht swords were some of the most prized possessions of the Viking era.&nbsp;It comes complete with a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard with similar bronze fittings.

There are four kings that this sword may have belonged to: Raedwald who was overlord of the English kingdoms between AD616 and his death (at the latest in 627, probably in 625/626), Eorpwald (died 627/628) and co-regents Sigebert and Ecric, who both died fighting Penda of Mercia in AD637.

Our Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon Sword is a based on the surviving components of an original found at the famous Sutton Hoo burial site. They can be seen on display at the British Museum. The composite hilt is made from wood and antiqued brass and is decorated with red enamel to resemble the garnets on the original. The hardwood grip is bound with brown leather and riveted to the hilt fittings in the same way as the original. It features a forged and tempered high carbon steel blade that is designed for hacking and slashing, such was the fighting style of the era. The leather bound wooden scabbard features antiqued brass fittings and a suspension loop allowing it to be fastened to a belt of baldric.

Found whilst excavating a 6^th-7^th century grave at a burial site close to Uppsala in Sweden, this Vendel age sword was undoubtedly owned by a high ranking warrior of chieftain. The Vendel era comes between the Migration Period and Viking Age and their rulers had troops of elite mounted warriors that were well armed with the best weapons and armour available.

Our Vendel Chieftain’s Sword features a highly ornate hilt, a testament to the craftsmen of the period. Like the original Vendela and Viking swords, it features a two part pommel with a cap secured by twin rivets. This cap is decorated with deep red enamel to replicate the garnet decoration on the original. The stylised “ring” on the pommel, seen on other swords of this type, is symbolic rather than a moving functional component. The hardwood grip is tightly bound with brown leather.

The fittings are plated with tin, much prized for its silver like appearance, and features antique brass accents. It features a forged and tempered high carbon steel blade that is designed for hacking and slashing, such was the fighting style of the era.
