Marshal Historical

Marshal Historical produce some of the best re-enactment equipment available to buy in the UK. Their range of historically accurate helmets and armour is crafted from 12, 14 and 16 gauge steel making it incredibly durable and suitable for pretty much anything the re-enactment field has to throw at it! Many of the Marshal Historical products are modelled on actual existing pieces or period artwork. Marshal Historical weaponry is designed for use. Their maces, axes and spearheads are supplied either blunt, for the re-enactment field, or sharp for living history or the re-enactment camp. Marshal Historical clothing is historically accurate and is made to period designs from authentic materials such as linen and wool.

  • Crusader Great Helm - 12 Gauge

    Made of 2.5mm, 12 gauge steel. Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used in its manufacture. The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil. No returns will be accepted due to these issues.

  • Crusader Great Helm - 16 gauge

    Our Crusader Great Helm was inspired by an original piece dated from the middle 13th century found in Pomerania that is now on display in the Historisches Museum of Berlin. This style of helmet was usually seen in the middle 13th century until the beginning of 14th century and can be seen in documents such as the Codex Manesse, the Maziejowsky Bible or the Cantigas.

    Our Crusader Great Helm is constructed from 16 gauge steel making it perfect for re-enactment. It features a padded liner and adjustable leather chin strap.

  • Crusader Great Helm - 16 gauge - Brass

    The Great Helm, which began to be seen on the battlefield as early as the 13th century on its earliest forms proved to be a winning design to be used almost for the next three centuries. It was most commonly worn over a chainmail coif or skull cap. It was usually built with 4 riveted pieces with flat top. It has a fierce-looking fixed visor that enhanced the already intimidating look of a charging knight.

  • Churburg Pigface Bascinet - 14 gauge

    Our Churburg Bascinet dates from approximately 1360 - 1390 and is based on a helmet that is part of a suit of armour that can be found in the Matsh family castle. It is constructed from 14 gauge steel making it perfect for the re-enactment field.

  • Armet with Gorget - 12 & 14 gauge

    Typical armets are made up of four pieces: a skull with a reinforced forehead, two cheek plates attached with hinges to the skull and a pointed visor. Cheek plates were closed by a pin and this was secured with a hook or metallic wire.

    As it was made almost in the exact shape of the neck and chin, it was necessary to develop a side opening system to allow the easy removal of this helmet.

    Our Churburg Gauntlets are a replica of some in Churburg Castle which are dated to 14th Century Italy. They are crafted from 16 gauge steel making them great for re-enactment and feature stitched leather gloves and buckled leather straps.

    The high-quality leather glove attached is stitched to the tip of the fingers, so it is easily removed, replaced or repaired. This item is made from natural leather.
