Our HEMA Sparring Pants by Red Dragon are designed for HEMA and are constructed from a 350N rated heavy-duty cotton. They feature padded protection panels on the front of the upper thighs and a layer of padding over the knees. The level of protection on the knees can be improved by inserting our Red Dragon Knee Protectors into the Velcro fastened pockets. There are 2 adjustable straps at the waist for a comfortable fit and elasticated braces to hold them in place. They also feature 2 pockets at the back, a zipped fly and are elasticated below the knee.

This jacket has no padding on the back as it is very rare to receive effective blows here – especially from rapiers and sabres. This has the effect of reducing the weight of the jacket whilst increasing the breathability. It also does not have padding on the inside of the arms reducing the weight further.

The padded collar features a blade catcher to help protect against stray thrusts that may go under the bib of a fencing mask.  The back of the jacket features an adjustable webbing strap with Velcro attachment which allows it to be pulled in at the waist for a more streamlined fit.

This jacket also features an innovative built in gorget, designed to overlap the bib of a fencing mask to stop thrusts from travelling upwards from beneath the bib. The gorget features a padded plastic plate to protect the throat and adjustable Velcro straps that allow it to be attached either at the back of the collar or at the back of the shoulders. The gorget can also be worn under the bib of the mask if you so wish. The back of the jacket features an adjustable webbing strap with velcro attachment which allows it to be pulled in at the waist for a more streamlined fit.

Unfortunately there is a manufacturing fault on this batch of gloves. The rivets feature the wrong base parts making the gloves less durable than planned.

If you purchase these gloves, they will be sent with a set of Chicago/Binding Screw Upgrades and 15mm nylon washers included. These will make the gloves more durable then originally planned.

Our new Red Dragon Dreadnought gloves take hand protection to the next level! These highly articulated gloves offer an incredible balance between comfort, protection and dexterity. At only 295g each, they are some of the lightest hard-shell gauntlets on the market. They provide great protection when sparring with a range of different weaponry including sabre, messer and (controlled) longsword. They were developed to be budget friendly and are certainly the most protective 5 finger gloves at this price point.

The modular design makes them easy to repair when required (so put your duct tape away!) and allows for upgradable change parts to be added. These gloves will evolve based on continued and welcome feedback.

These latest additions to the Red Dragon Combat Range feature 3mm re-enactment safe edges and rounded tips. The blades are formed from tempered high-carbon steel (HRC Core of approx 48 and Edge 50-52 and fullered to ensure they are swift in the hand. Indeed a lot of time and effort has gone into make these blades as agile as possible whilst retaining a re-enactment safe edge. 

The steel hilt fittings neatly sandwich the leather wrapped wooden grip and are held in place by a traditional peened tang. The leather wrapped wooden scabbard features a protective rain guard and metal chape. If you are part of a re-enactment group we recommend consulting your safety officer for guidance before purchase.
