Red Dragon HEMA

These latest additions to the Red Dragon Combat Range feature 3mm re-enactment safe edges and rounded tips. The blades are formed from tempered high-carbon steel (HRC Core of approx 48 and Edge 50-52) and fullered to ensure they are swift in the hand. Indeed a lot of time and effort has gone into make these blades as agile as possible whilst retaining a re-enactment safe edge.

The steel hilt fittings neatly sandwich the leather wrapped wooden grip and are held in place by a traditional peened tang. The leather wrapped wooden scabbard features a protective rain guard and metal chape. If you are part of a re-enactment group we recommend consulting your safety officer for guidance before purchase.

The collar features a blade catcher and integrated plastic throat protector backed with a foam pad to absorb impact. This is securely fastened by Velcro and is also removable. The long zip is reinforced by a press stud at the top and bottom and the hood can also be unzipped and removed if required. It features reinforced elbow patches and zipped pockets.

Our Red Dragon Fencing Mask is one of the most popular masks in the HEMA marketplace and represents excellent value for beginners. This durable mask is suitable for longsword sparring and most other HEMA activities. It comes in “HEMA black” and features a removable (handwash only) red liner. The bib is rated at 350N. Available in Medium, Large and Extra Large.

Sizing for fencing masks are based on your vertical head circumference.

If you do not have a mask you already wear, measure your face by taking a tape measure, holding it underneath your chin with your mouth slightly open, from under your jaw, up past your ear, past the top of your head, down past your other ear, and back down to the bottom of your chin (from where you started).
