Our Red Dragon Knee Guards offer great protection from knee strikes. The knee is protected by a rigid plastic plate to disperse the force of the blow, whilst the generous layer of foam padding beneath absorbs the force. The sides of the knee are further protected by integrated plastic plates with foam padding.

The guards are held firmly in place with an elasticated Velcro strap around the back of the knee and can be tied to fencing breeches where possible. Best when used in conjunction with our Red Dragon Shin Guards. One size only.

These latest additions to the Red Dragon Combat Range feature 3mm re-enactment safe edges and rounded tips. The blades are formed from tempered high-carbon steel (HRC Core of approx 48 and Edge 50-52 and fullered to ensure they are swift in the hand. Indeed a lot of time and effort has gone into make these blades as agile as possible whilst retaining a re-enactment safe edge. 

The steel hilt fittings neatly sandwich the leather wrapped wooden grip and are held in place by a traditional peened tang. The leather wrapped wooden scabbard features a protective rain guard and metal chape. If you are part of a re-enactment group we recommend consulting your safety officer for guidance before purchase.

The backs of the plaques have been left plain allowing you to fix them to the wall in a manner that best suits your requirements (shallow drilled hole or brackets are recommended). This line of swords features high carbon EN42J Spring Steel blades that have been forged and tempered to perform like their historical counterparts. They have a core hardness of 45HRC approx. with an edge hardness of 50HRC approx.

Offering some of the best protection and mobility on the market, our Knee and Shin Protectors are so well articulated you hardly know that you are wearing them. Unlike other leg protectors, ours articulate "with" the knee rather than restrict movement and most importantly offer side protection for the knee which is lacking on most of the protectors that are currently used. They are much less bulky than other protectors and due to their superior padding can be used for both synthetic and (blunt) steel sparring.

Our Forearm and Elbow Protectors by Red Dragon are designed for HEMA and feature heavy-duty cotton construction. They feature 7 padded articulated plastic plates that envelop the forearm for complete protection. They are held firmly in place with 2 elasticated straps with Velcro fastenings. The elbow protectors are constructed with a hard plastic shell and padded inner lining, allowing for both protection and comfort. They are attached at the elbow with a single elasticated strap with Velcro fastening.

The Red Dragon Throat Protector is designed to protect the throat when sparring. It is worn beneath the mask and features a hard impact plastic insert to protect the throat and a layer of stiff impact foam to protect the clavicle (collar bone). It is constructed from stitched nylon and features an elasticated Velcro attachment at the back of the neck. One size fits all.

Our Red Dragon Stage Combat Sabre is the perfect starter weapon for stage combat and theatrical work. The durable bowl style hilt protects the hands from stray blows, whilst the flexible high carbon steel blade features a rolled tip for added safety.
