Draken's Viking Raider Ship Shield

Our painted Viking shield features the mighty drakkar, the iconic longship that carried Norse raiders across distant seas in search of glory and conquest. Sleek, swift, and built for both ocean and river travel, these vessels were the backbone of Viking expansion, their dragon-headed prows striking fear into those who glimpsed them on the horizon.

His reign of fear was ultimately ended by the hero Sigurd, who, guided by cunning and fate, struck Fafnir down from beneath as the beast crawled over a pit. With the dragon’s death, Sigurd claimed both glory and the cursed riches—though the shadow of that treasure would follow him thereafter.

The shield is constructed from thick wood and features a wooden handle and steel boss. It is edged with rawhide to protect from sword and axe cuts.
