Our Ribchester Helmet is hand crafted and all of the brass detailing is embossed by hand. The mask is cast in steel, polished and the detailing is applied with gold paint. The mask is held in place with a leather strap and it can be removed.

This helmet comes complete with a separate padded lining cap (which can be glued in) and can be worn.

The Thraex or Thracian was a type of Roman gladiator, armed in the Thracian style.

Our Thracian Gladiator Helmet is handcrafted from 18 gauge steel with brass fittings. The brass ocular plates can be dismounted from the mask by removing the small brass pins that hold them in place. The hinged face mask can also be removed entirely by removing the brass pins that attach it to the helmet.

Comes complete with a separate padded arming cap that can be glued in.

The Corbridge Lorica Segmentata Roman armour was found as part of a larger hoard during the 1964 excavations of Corbridge Roman Town near to Hadrian's Wall. Dating from between AD122 and 138, the contents of the hoard were found in excellent condition, due to the way that they were buried in an iron-bound, leather-covered wooden chest. The Corbridge Hoard is one the most remarkable Roman finds of the past century.

The armour found there has since helped to shape Roman historians' understanding of Roman armour. The intricate designs and astonishingly preserved leather and textiles, helped people to understand how Roman armour was assembled and it was this discovery that made it possible to produce accepted reconstructions of this type of armour.
