Templar Sword - Deluxe

Our “Deluxe” range of swords have a much more decorated finish than their plain counterparts. The hilt fittings and grips are painted with bright enamel paint to accentuate the details of the intricate designs. On some swords in the range, gold paint is also used to give the swords a “high status” look.

The Knights Templar were a powerful crusading order of knights founded in the 11th Century with many of their number recruited from England and France. There are many Templar castles and churches throughout England including the Temple Church in London, made famous in The Da Vinci Code.

Our Templar Sword is a product of the world famous Art Gladius factory in the historic sword manufacturing city of Toledo, Spain. It features the words SIGILLUM MILITUM TEMPLI XPISTI (Seal of the Knights of Christ) emblazoned around the pommel encircling a Templar Cross with knotwork decoration. The guard also features the Cross Pattée and heraldic imagery on the quillons, and the “Two Knights on One Horse” (said to symbolise the poverty of the order) symbol at the centre of the guard. The handle also features Christian symbology and a black textured grip. The stainless steel blade features etched heraldic designs. This item has a blunt blade and is manufactured for display only.
