Details
Our Crusader Sword is based on a surviving example of a Crusader arming sword from the early part of the 13th century now on display in the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin.
The Oakeshott type I.1 pommel is cast in solid steel topped with a peen block and features a Crusader cross motif at the centre. The varnished wooden grip is engraved with a latticework pattern and features a brass ferrule at each end. Its high carbon EN42J Spring Steel blade has been forged and tempered to perform its historical counterpart. It has a core hardness of 45HRC approx. with an edge hardness of 50HRC approx. The 2mm edges are suitable for blade on blade work (not re-eneactment safe) but are better suited to being sharpened. A well-made wood lined leather scabbard with integrated leather belt is included.
