Viking Ocular Helmet (Antiqued) - 16 gauge
The Spangenhelm was a creation of the Scythians and Sarmatians from the Eurasian steppes. By the 6th century it had become the most common helmet design in Europe. The word Spangenhelm is of German origin and refers to the “spangen” which were the metal strips that formed the helmet’s construction.

Spangenhelms were popular as they were relatively easy and cheap to produce. They were eventually replaced by stronger, but more expensive nasal helms with 1 piece skulls. Some of the nasal helmets shown on the Bayeux Tapestry seem to be of Spangenhelm construction.

Théoden was the noble and courageous King of Rohan and Lord of the Riddermark. He led his people to victory against the Uruk-hai in the Battle of Helm’s Deep, despite overwhelming odds. He bravely fought against the forces of Mordor on the Pelennor Fields, where he made his last stand.

The surface was highly decorated with sun and horse motifs of bronze and copper. The leather neck guard was embossed with Rohirric designs. This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop and used in “The Lord Of The Rings” films presented by New Line Cinema.
The helm is crafted of reinforced polyresin and genuine leather, with precisely-molded details and coloring.
