Odin Viking Sword
On the 8th June 793 the first Viking attack is recorded in England. The abbey of Lindisfarne in Northumbria, a centre of learning that was famous across Europe was destroyed in a Viking raid. Monks were killed or taken away as slaves and the church treasures were taken away. From this moment onwards, Viking raids on England became more frequent until they were eventually defeated in a series of battles by King Alfred the Great. The last Viking raid on England was defeated by King Harold II in 1066. The Vikings were ferocious warriors and saw death in battle as means to entering the Halls of Valhalla – where they could fight all day and feast all night.
Our Odin Viking Sword is based on an excavated find from Dyback in Sweden and now on display in the Historiska Museum, Stockholm. It is one of the finest Viking era swords ever found in Scandinavia. It was probably made in England and if not, it was certainly influenced by English styles. It is an exceptional example of the Winchester style of metalwork from the 8th-11th century. This stunning replica features a wire bound hilt (the original sword had silver wire) and a decorated stainless steel blade.
This fantastic replica is produced in the world famous Art Gladius factory in Toledo, Spain.

Black Prince Sword
Edward of Woodstock, Prince of Wales, was the eldest son of King Edward III of England. In his early life he was known as Edward of Woodstock after his birthplace in Oxfordshire. He was never known as The Black Prince during his lifetime, the title seems to have originated during the 16th century. He was an exceptional military leader and commanded the vanguard of the English army at the Battle of Crecy when he was only 16. In 1348 he founded and became the first Knight of the Order of the Garter. Edward died in 1376, one year before his father, becoming the first English Prince of Wales not to become King of England. His amazing tomb effigy can be seen in Canterbury Cathedral along with his heraldic "achievements" including helmet, shield and gauntlets.
The Black Prince Sword is a magnificent piece and produced by the world famous Art Gladius workshop in Toledo, Spain. The black and gold hilt is heavily adorned with decoration and features the Royal Arms of England at the centre of the guard. One side of the pommel is decorated with coats of arms associated with the Black prince whilst the other side bears the words "HONNI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" being Old French for "Evil be to him who evil thinks". This is also the motto of the Knights of the Garter.
